Opportunity
The Bullis Boosters Summer Bridge Camp runs a service learning program for 9–11th graders. Beyond the hands-on practice, this program takes students on a guided journey to earn (literally) leadership skills as camp counselors for 2–6th graders. The Lead by Influence guide is filled with exercises, actionable challenges, and daily reflections to facilitate learning. We even gamified their experience by allowing them to earn badges (in the form of stickers) that they can add to their book. Beyond the week, this guide becomes an artifact and capsule of their special experience.
